Sometimes moments happen that are pure kismet. One of those moments recently happened when I called up Janine Da Ponte, talented child photographer, to tell her about some projects I was working on. That call lasted much longer than either of us imagined. To say we got excited is an understatement. It just so happened that Janine was considering similar projects herself. Naturally, we partnered on this one: an ethereal outdoor Tea Party photoshoot for her stylish clients.
This collaboration was a dream. Shot on a gorgeous property in Caledon, with the cutest little models to boot, we brought the best of two worlds together: magical fairies and a whimsical tea party. Using an existing concrete dining area, I created an organically styled space that included lush woodsy faux green elements as well as antique ceramics, vintage silverware, glassware and luxe velvet pillows to glam up the outdoor space. One of the biggest challenges was working with quality artificial florals and greens. While I always opt for fresh florals, since this shoot was to be shot over several weeks, we decided to go artificial so they would look as crisp as the first day.
I may have styled this enchanting space, but Janine’s incredible talent and eye for a great shot made this shoot so dreamy. But don’t take my word for it. Take a look and tell us what you think.
