Our birthday boy absolutely adores dinosaurs so when this mom suggested it as a theme, the ideas started flowing. Since it was an outdoor event, we played up the forest look and make it feel a bit more Jurassic than your run of the mill friendly purple dinosaur.
The moment you walked into the space you were met with a Jurrasic-styled dessert table that included Dino Bones (yogurt covered and stick pretzels), Volcanic Rocks (chocolate covered raisins), Swamp Jelly (lime Jell-O) and many more treats. Adding a very special touch, Mom made many of the desserts herself and they were as delicious as they were fun! Guests particularly loved the gigantic (and life-like) baby dinosaurs, while the Jurassic Park movie soundtrack played in the background. I was blown away by how many guests told me they felt like they were on a movie set. Mission accomplished.
There were several activities keeping the guests entertained at Arcuri Park (the family surname). Kids, even the young at heart, could have spent hours at the Dino Dig Site digging for bones. For favours, every child received a customized canvas bag filled with goodies for their “expedition”. And those archaeologist hats? Adorable!
Reactions are my favourite part of every event I plan. Seeing the birthday boy’s initial reaction to his party made my day. He loved it! When the guests laid their eyes on kids’ dining table their eyes filled with wonder. The mini harvest table and chairs were styled with fresh greens, dino centrepieces and customized plates that made quite a statement. Well, maybe you should just see for yourself…
